Subject Leader Physical Education and Enrichment Coordinator

When and why did you join the Seckford Education Trust?

I joined Seckford Education Trust in September 2018 as a Teacher of Physical Education and Science as well as Enrichment Coordinator at SET Beccles School.

How has the Seckford Education Trust supported your development?

Seckford Education Trust has supported my development through initially giving me the role of Enrichment Coordinator. This gave me the opportunity to develop my leadership skills as well as ensuring the Enrichment curriculum has a positive whole-school impact on students and staff.

Recently, I have been enabled to develop further as a middle leader at SET Beccles School, by becoming Subject Leader for Physical Education in September 2020.

Which specific aspects of the Seckford Education Trust’s CPD offer had the most impact on you?

The CPD I have received since joining the Trust has been excellent, in regards to the guest speakers at our Professional Development Days. These speakers are leaders in their area of research and provided valuable insight into improving my practice as a teacher.

Furthermore, I have been fortunate to receive personalised CPD through one-to-one coaching in developing as a middle leader.

What would you say to someone considering applying for a job within the Seckford Education Trust?

The schools within Seckford Education Trust are small, caring and inclusive learning environments, which have core values of community at the centre of them. Set Beccles has been a great place to work for the last 3 years and with great people.

Where do you see yourself in the Seckford Education Trust in 5 years?

In the next 5 years I would like to see myself continuing my personal development within the Trust, so that I am able to provide the best learning experiences for all students within the school and support my colleagues to my best ability.
